Genode OS release 25.02 Mar 31, 2025

Genode 25.02 brings multi-monitor support to the window-management level and to virtual machines, runs up-to-date versions of Qemu and the Chromium engine, and extends platform support to Intel Meteor Lake and F&S armStone.

With Genode version 25.02 released in February, we nicely wrapped up our intense line of work on top-notch multi-monitor support, covering the window-management level, and going as far as exposing the new comforts to virtual machines. Under the hood, the topic served as driving motivation for SIMD performance optimizations that found their way into the new release as well. Further highlights of the new version are performance optimizations of our custom microkernel, Qemu running directly on Genode, and added support for Intel Meteor Lake as well as F&S MX8MP armStone platforms.
